Other folks, from Saskatchewan, who were visiting Fort Langley .....

After a lot of Forting .............. What better thing to do ..than doing some
Beatnik dining ..... and, the weird thing is, Keith has a cool stick on Goateeee
and, truth be told, it was a cool dining spot and, sadly, we're were only ones of
hepcat age

Start off with a shot of a kid looking through the window of a cafe where Keith
and I settled in a coffee .......and it wasn't a Starbucks ...matter of fact,
I didn't even see a Starbucks anywhere near quaint Fort Langley ..but, before
I digress to far:

Keith looking at something in the Fort Langley Museum ....hence the sepia tone attempt

Approaching the actual "fort" of Fort Langley ...also, the bars on the window
were the closest I got to shooting my usual crime and corruption stuff

One of the guides of the fort ... a young Morrocan lady who came to Vancouver for
a holiday and her brother brought her to Fort Langley and ... BOOM that was it,
she went back finished university and back to Canada, BC and (Fort) Langley

The next two(2) pics are of family of tourists trying there hand at "panning for
gold" at the makeshift 'gold rush' portion of the fort ... I didn't wait to see if
they got any gold....... but, I daresay, the youngest of the family -- the young
lad nearest the camera -- was the most cynical of the family but his sister and
Dad were much more engrossed

Inside the Big House and, no, not the gaol but the house of the Head Cheese
of Fort Langley and he had a nifty gun hanging around and had to use flash to
keep it steady .............. not bad flash exposure

From Guns to Girls and the waitress who served Keith and I at the Beatniks Bistro and even lived to survive ..

After lunch -- THANKS KEITH -- we decided to go for a little wander around town
as the rain had pretty much stopped to a light intermittent drizzle and went
down to the river and liked this shot of the a few boats ...which are, according to
Keith, are becoming as rare as the fish I saw jump out of the water -- I missed him
but I did get the splash

A view aross the river which shows what kind of day it was:

As we were walking back, from the river, we ran into lady -- a friend of Keiths -- who
is an avid kayaker/rower as she wandered down the railway tracks with her paddle...

Whilst wandering around Fort Langley village we came across the cemetary and thought I would end this little sojourn with a little homage to those who laid
down their lives in order that the following generations could enjoy little places
like Fort Langley

heers and blast away with comments ....be they positive or negative ...all I ask for is some qualifying as to why you think the pics are good or bad ....Cheers, Jack

Whilst driving through a small city (Merritt), I spotted a Cowboy (Junkie...me thinks)

While waiting to go through the Toll Booth, I spotted a Conservation Officer pulling over (potential) poachers ....of bears, deer, moose, etc....and he spotted me ;D

...I caught one bus 'part way' to work and then waited (with numerous other folks) for a bus to continue my journey to work and all the buses were either 'the wrong bus, filled to the point where they woudn't stop and, of course, the most annoying one...

and then after work the buses were running but the SkyTrain -- Vancouver's very feeble attempt at the Tube -- wasn't running because the weather had warmed up and the ice was melting and making a mess of the SkyTrain rails and, consequently.....
